The third and final installment of Orlando Voorn's epic 'Angles' featuring Japan's Itokim; Canada's Tomas Jirku; and Britain's Lex Loofah on remix duty. Itokim and Voorn are a wonderful match and the quality of Itokim's remixes testify to this. Both make some of the best hi tech soul or Detroit techno outside of Detroit, Michigan and testament to this is how both have been accepted by their Detroit peers and their music automatically considered within the Detroit genre. Itokim creates an ode to Motor City and the aptly named Praise mix is a stunning piece of classic Detroit techno - think Galaxy to Galaxy, Pennington whilst his 2nd version is a raw, basic grove aptly titled Stripped Down mix where he takes Japanese minimalism and order and creates a funky, hypnotic groove. If Voorn represents the Old School then itokim represents the New School and together the music is beautiful. Canada's Tomas Jirku thinks along the same lines of itokim's stripped mix, but whilst Jirku takes the raw disco and basic funk elements from Voorn's original he adds a kick ass break beat, a 2 step rhythm and creates a unique sounding, or should we say Jirku sounding remix that fuses Minimal, Dub step and Detroit with a funky break. This really is a little bit different to everything else and is of the highest calibre DJ friendly tune. Lex Loofah steals some of the originals major elements and drops in a phat house beat and steps back in time, circa 1990 UK club scene and creates a deadly Dj friendly club cut. Other remixes already available online include mixes from Dave Ellsemere, Manuel Perez, Vakama, Jamie Behan, Fran Hartnett and Rob Glennon and nice & nasty will have Orlando Voorn on vinyl this Spring 2010. Orlando Voorn is a true dance music legend and techno pioneer and Angles is his second track for Nice & nasty but his fourth release.
